Met up with Tiffany and Meghan this weekend again for another brunch in Scottsdale. After 3 years of living here I am finally explroring the area and it's been fun. So first we went to one spot. realized it was family style (i dont like it and both Tiff and Meg have Diatary restrictions). So we bounced real quick and walked our way down to Olive and Ivy. We had brunch in this beautiful little sunroom that I wish I had in my apartment.... A girl can dream right.  My dress is so perfect for valentines day and I can't wait to show you the photos. Cute, dainty, and everything you think of when you think glam for Valentines Day.   I also have been using the crap out of my Beach Waver curling wand. I will either being using this or a crimper on Valentines Day. 

After Talking about my unruly hair so much on instagram, Beach Waver decided to help a girl out and sent her this lovely curling wand to try. Find it here at beachwaver.com This is a 1.25 inch barral and I love it. It creates a loose wave that is so pretty in photos. I also love the Living Proof Flex Hair Spray which I use to create a nice curl. To create my curls I section 1 in pieces and curl away from my face. I then run my fingers through my curls. My hair has a little bit of a wave which you can see in the photos below. But when I am looking for a more structured look I like to use this and do a loose curl.

I love getting together with like minded women and Tiffany and Megan are two of my favorites. Bae Brunch was super successful. This weekend we got together and got to talk content. I could not be happier for both of these boss babes and their journey for 2020. And Hopefulllyyyyy we can create some bomb A$$ content together this year. We are ready to create and have so many ideas.  

Hash Kitchen of course did not dissapoint and we will for sure be back... it’s my favorite place to get brunch in the Phoenix area hands down. The avocado toast is one of my favorites along with their bacon charcouterie plate. Yes I sound crazy... but its good people.. so good. Also Bring an appetite. Every Plate is large. The avocado toast could serve two but I mean... I want left overs so Ill order my own :).

2020 Life Update and Vlog/Blog Plans

Honestly part of why this post came second is because I wasn’t sure where to start I started my blog after graduating college, And since then I have worked and worked and worked on instagram and blog growth. But in reality what I was missing was creating. The past 3 years have been dedicated to creating content and last year my commitment was to again add the growth of my platform.

3 years ago I moved from California to Arizona for work. I    committed that moment to my Instagram and blog, and never looked back. Fast forward to 2019 resolution last year and I told myself by the end of the year I wanted to be out of my job that was killing me... literally. I lost 30 pounds in a year, because of the stress and anxiety along with my hair. It was a rough freaking year, but I committed to myself and my business and told myself I was done. My boss literally messaged me one day going off about some nonesense that wasn’t even relevant to my work... and I quit on the spot in his office. 

Since committing to myself and my business I have doubled my monthly income and may possibly be on my way to increasing that already. I’m not writing this to gloat. But what I’m trying to say is that the commitment you give to whatever you’re doing is what is going to bring you success. If you love what you do then commit to it. If you don’t find something that you can monetize and find your way out. 

Now when I Quit... lemme tell you... I wasn’t doubling my money, I have student debt, and I still had bills to pay. So no way was this transition swift and easy but in less then 4 months I was able to increase my clicks, and conversions just by working with social media and understanding how my audience works. I was making money on my platforms and I didn’t need my full time job. I also started picking up part time hours at a marketing company to supplement the income I was missing, but am about to cut that as well probably after this month just because I have so much to do for my platform and I need the time to create... which was my 2020 resolution. All comes full circle right? 

This year I want to dedicate my year to content creation, travel, and working with other creatives. La and europe are in the mix now where else should I try and go this year? Looking for fun destinations here in the states or elsewhere. 

How I Grew My Instagram From 10,000 to 90,000 in a year

2019 was such an epic year I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have going into 2020. So last year in December I told myself. I was done with my job. Done with my boss, and done working for someone else’s dream.

2019 was my year for growth, and not only do I work for myself now, but I quit my job and flipped my business in under 6 months. One of the biggest things I took from a friend was this “you are working so hard and killing yourself doing both, if you took the leap I think you’d make it happen because you are already”. I’ve never had such a lightbulb moment in my life. So let’s start with how I grew my Instagram.

So I grew, and I grew.... and I grew some more. Giveaway after giveaway week after week seriously it was insane to see the growth.I proabably did over 100 giveaways. A year later of doing at least one or two giveaways a month and I have grown by over 80,000 followers in just a year. My engagement is not what I would like it to be, but I am killin myself everyday to change that. What I’m really noticing is that If you want the engagement, if you want the brand deals... You have to have it all.

You have to show up on Instagram Every. Single. Day. You have to create YouTube content, Tik Tok is now the new vine and yes you should be on that too. Pinterest is the biggest traffic driver I’ve ever used and I spend as much time there as I do Instagram.
I grew from 20k views on Pinterest a month to over 10 million in 6 months. If you’re interested in that info let me know and I will create a post for that. Dm me on insta or leave a comment below.

So what does this mean? START SMALL. Do what you can with what you have. If you can’t create that much content grow one platform and then work on integrating those other platforms as you grow the one. But you need to take a hard look at your platform and what you are trying to do. If you are just trying to be anothr fashion or beauty blogger you have to think beyond that if you want to be successful on here.

Instagram is soooooooooo saturated you have to stand out, and in order to do that you HAVE to do more.Very few people get “seen” on Instagram so if you wanna be seen do more. This is also part of my motto for 2020 collaborate and do more. I want this to be the year of travel, creating content, and working with other creators. I hope you can stick around for the ride. This week has been so freaking nice I cannot tell you! I am finally feeling like myself again, and let me tell you its been a minute.... Tuesday I got to meet up with ma girl Meghan from @lifeofmeggss on Instagram. We had a great time chatting about content and where we see it going, along with some great photos. 

This weekend I am headed to the great state of Texas for Christmas. My boyfriend is from Texas so we will be spending time with his family for a few days and I can't wait! I plan to vlog the whole thing so keep up on with my stories on instagram to see what we get up to and I will be posting the videos as soon as we are back from the trip. Possibly while were gone, but I am really trying to take some time off before my boyfriend tries to hide my phone from me so I can't work anymore :). I work so much and I forget that I need to reset and relax.

If you follow me on instagram you I love glitter but... it doesn't always love me back lol. It just gets everywhere and ocasionally I drop it on myself or dip the wrong brush in it. We know how much of a clutz I am in general and my small makeup space does not help. But we make it work sis!

Kealoha Jewelry

Kealoha was more then generous sending over some of their handmade pieces. The necklace is a serious favorite I haven't stopped wearing it since I recieved it.
