10 Things To Do In Key West From My Trip 2021

Kandi and I had such a good time in Key West. We must go back. It was gorgeous. In this post I am going to list 10 things we did to give you a taste of the island and things you can do when you're there.

1. Sunset at Mallory Square.

Restaurants and hotels line the water, along with street vendors and performers. Its normally full of life but since covid has become a little more calm. As the world opens up I expect the performers to return, but until then enjoy a dinner by the water or some drinks and the sunset. In Key West its legal to drink and walk around and they have little out door bars along the square.

2/3 Sloppy Joes.

This bar was a favorite bar of the Author Ernest Hemingway.  I also toured his home and it was a cute little piece of history. They had cats all over the property along with kittens... So freaking cute I wanted to take them home.

Ernest Hemming has a Home on the Island that has been preserved since his passing. He wrote novels. like The Old Man and The Sea and The Sun Also Rises. The house also takes care of the cats that occupy the home including a kitten area. It was the cutest little piece of history and I would live there today... with a few updates of course ;).

4. Smathers Beach.

Smathers has easy parking and is so peaceful and quiet. If it wasn’t so windy when we went I could have spent the day there. Pack a lunch or snack for easy eating, they also have a vendor on the beach where you can rent water toys and food.

5. Fort Zachary State Beach

this beach requires a small fee, but has another great beach. If you enjoy a bbq at the beach this is the spot for you. Bring your lunch for the day and snorkle around the beach. Perfect spot for photos or a hike through nature. you can walk the grounds at fort zachary and the views and sunset are gorgeous.

6. Key West Light House.
This view is from the Key West Lighthouse. There is a small $10 fee to tour the light house and grounds. The view is freaking amazing , this photo doesn’t do the 360 view justice. You can walk the whole 360 at the top and see just how gorgeous key west is from a birds eye view.

7. La Tratorria
The food here was out of this freakin world. My favorite part of travel is the new places I get to see and where I get to eat. We had the best Italian food our last night in Key Wesg at La Tratorria. I had the bolognese and Kandi had a cheese pizza. Both were amazing.

8. Duval Street
Duval Street Is the main attraction in Key West. It holds a majority of their bars and restaurants along with touristy shops. We spent most of our time walking up and down duval eating, drinking, and people watching... along with getting stopped by strangers and ending up out with new friends till 3 am lol. We Clearly had a great time.

9. Butterfly Sanctuary
If you enjoy being one with nature the butterfly sanctuary is your spot. As soon as you enter you hear the sounds of flamingos and other tropical birds echoing through the exhibit. The Butterflies are beautful and everywhere. The other wildlife adds to the ambiance and it's just a very peaceful experience. Also very fun with children.

10. Rum Distillary
Key West First Legal Rum Distillary is the one that we went to. Unfortunately when we were there we couldn't tour the facility, but we were able to try some rum ;). I love rum always have so if you enjoy it i would definately stop by at least one of them. There are a few on the Island

Where to Eat Pacific Beach: Scuderie Italia

Scuderie Italia is a newer Italian restaurant in Pacific Beach, and I am quite obsessed. I’ve been three times this week and I wasn’t disappointed. First the appetizers are amazing. Huge Charcuterie Board filled with plenty of delicious fruits, pickled veggies and amazing meats. The burrata and prosciutto was also amazing I could have eaten the whole thing myself.

Second I think I could live off the pizza. I ordered it as takeout which if you live in pacific Beach the delivery is free. You order straight from the website and it could not have been easier and fast then door dash or Uber eats.

The pasta selection is amazing and unfortunately I was so hungry I ate it without getting a photo. Yes I am kicking myself but it was so good I’ll be back for more and take some then lol. If you’re looking for a great Italian Spot in San Diego or just need a new restaurant to try this is your place.

Dreaming of my next pizza from here.

Xoxo, CB

Spring Outfit Ideas 1/21/21 Urban Outfitters, Forever21, Target, Ross, Nike

Spring is almost here and in San Diego it seems to be having some adjustments issues, but we’re getting there 🙃.

These oversized tees from Urban are my fave and I need them in more colors. They are so in and so easy to pair with just about anything. I’ve never bought a Shacket before and was not disappointed. Love this one... probably should have gotten one in a more neutral color, but I still wear it regularly and layers with other long sleeves and tanks. In San Diego the weather has been all over the place. Freezing one day got the next so I love to throw the Shacket in my car just in case I need to layer it over something at night if I’m out and about.... which is minimal at best because of lock down.

Is anyone else struggling with what to wear or buy because of quarantine? Everytime I see something I’m like ok what realistically am I wearing this too because there’s not a lot goin on. So I’ve basically been buying crop tops and oversized tees because they can be dressed up or down. I don’t remember the last time I put on a dress 👀.  Let me know what you like or what you didn’t in the comments. New outfits and posts are cominggggggg. I finally feel ready to create again so I’m excited to get back to work. If there’s something you wanna see on my blog let me know but travel diaries and daily OOTD’s are coming 💁🏼‍♀️❣️ Outfit is linked below.

Things to do in Pismo Beach 2021

For Christmas my boyfriend gifted me with a trip to Pismo Beach. I love to travel so this was the perfect little getaway up the coast. We’re down in San Diego so it was about a 4.5 hr trip with some stops and a little bit of traffic.

Yes we took all the covid precautions and wore masks at all required spaces (which is essentially anywhere in public right now in California)

On the drive up we stopped at a tasting room and had some lunch. Ate at an Italian Deli in Santa Barbara Waterfront and got some tasters from Pali Wine.

Checked into the Cliffs hotel in Pismo around 4:30. Watched the sunset. They were insane the whole trip. Everything was pretty much closed, but the hotel had a great outdoor area by the beach where you could eat and sit outside so that was amazing. Hotel room also had a great bathtub so I put that to use the first night. Ate at the hotel and listened to the ocean. Could also hear it from our room... can I move in?

We went to j duci winery and Grey Wolf Winery. Wish they were fully open, but we took the wine and some sandwiches back to the hotel.  Ate outside by the water and walked the beach. Went to some wineries, bought some wine. Was a great little afternoon drive

Also if you’re in the area Hoagies is amazing. They had a great menu from burritos to breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and they sell Peet’s coffee which is one of my faves. I had a  California breakfast burrito, BF had a breakfast sandwich. We loved them both. Ate breakfast on the beach and drove home.

12/21 Outfit Check Urban Top and No Rest For Bridget Jeans Winter Outfits in San Diego

Living for these outfit changes. Top from Urban Outfitters. Got it on sale a few weeks ago and jeans are from No Rest For Bridget in San Diego and online. Love a Crop Top with jeans. Paired this with an oversized plaid button up for an extra layer. Yes it’s winter but in San Diego it’s barely under 75, so I live in a crop top most of the year. How did we like it?
